(Upper Cretaceous, 80 million years ago) with a wingspan of more than 8 M, this Winged and Toothless pterosaur was one of the largest flying animals ever to live. The beak-shaped mouth opening was adapted to catch fish and other marine organisms. There was a flap on the neck and the tail was reduced over time. The skull was behind a long bone comb. Because the legs could not carry the body on solid ground, the Pteranodon fed its young from the air.
